This week, the Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA) officially endorsed the candidacy of Mike Mangan, Democratic candidate for Everett State Representative in the upcoming special primary election on Tuesday, March 5.
“I am proud to accept the MTA’s endorsement as I am strongly committed to making education a top priority for our state,” said Mangan. “Our teachers are a big reason why Massachusetts schools are the best in the country. I look forward to working with teachers to make sure every student has the chance to receive a great education.”
Mangan’s three children all attend or attended Everett Public Schools, and he calls public education “the most important factor in making Everett a great place to raise a family.”
“Mike Mangan is a great candidate for state representative,” said Paul Toner, President of the MTA. “He believes all students have a right to receive an excellent education and will advocate for adequate funding for our public schools, colleges and universities. MTA members strongly recommend Mike Mangan for the Massachusetts House of Representatives.”
The MTA is the largest teachers union in Massachusetts, representing 107,000 members from more than 400 local associations throughout Massachusetts.
