Mayor Carlo DeMaria and the Everett city council recently presented citations to Police Officers from MIT, Everett, Revere, and Malden, honoring their heroic efforts during the Boston Marathon Crisis. Also in attendance were Congressman Edward Markey, Congressman Mike Capuano, and State Senator Sal DiDomenico, all who spoke words of praise and gratitude for the local police personnel.
“From the first instance of the bombings to the final apprehension of the second suspect, these men bravely served and protected our local communities, our sister city of Boston, and the entire State of Massachusetts without hesitation,” states Mayor DeMaria, “They are true heroes who exemplify what it means to be a public safety servant, and I hope that these citations reflect the pride, respect, and gratitude we feel.”
